Dear Mr.Secretary General:

I refer to the Agreement on the Military Aspects of the Peace Settlement attached as Annex 1- A to the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recognizing the importance of a comprehensive peace settlement to bring an end to the tragic conflict in the region, I have the honor to provide the following undertaking to promote achievement of that objective.

On behalf of the Republic of Croatia, I wish to assure United Nations that, in order to facilitate accomplishment of the mission of the multinational military Implementation Force ("IFOR") referred to in Annex 1-A, the Republic of Croatia shall strictly refrain from introducing into or otherwise maintaining in Bosnia and Herzegovina any armed forces or  other personnel with military capability.
